Thanksgiving is best spent eating tons of great food with your family. If you don’t have plans this year or just want a bit of a switch, we have a few options that you can’t beat.
The Great Smoky Thanksgiving Arts and Crafts Show
Between November 26th and December 1st this year, you can stop by the Gatlinburg Convention Center to take a look at all of the beautiful items for sale at the Great Smoky Thanksgiving Arts and Crafts Show. The vendors at this annual event are members of the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community. At this show, you will find numerous handmade Thanksgiving trinkets. From pottery to jewelry, handmade candles, stuffed animals, and quilts, you are sure to find something you love. The craft show hours are 10am to 5pm Monday through Thursday, 10am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Check it out this Thanksgiving, and find something special for you and someone you love.
Explore the Mountains
Get the family together and explore the great outdoors in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than in the midst of the autumn leaves and crisp cool air? Go on a leisurely stroll through easy trails, take a hike, ride a bike, or even go fishing in one of the many bodies of water throughout the mountains. Sounds like the perfect family bonding to us!
The Trolley Ride of Lights
Starting the evening of November 22nd, take the whole family on a lit-up trolley ride through Gatlinburg’s beautiful holiday lights. Consider it a kickstart to the Christmas festivities, and enjoy the serenity of lights and experience the excitement of the entire family. Each trolley tour includes a cup of hot chocolate and a storyteller to guide your experience through the winter wonderland. Admission for each member of the family is $10.
The Old Mill
You can’t have Thanksgiving without a hearty turkey meal. Skip the cooking this year, and dine at The Old Mill for the traditional Thanksgiving fixings. The Old Mill will be hosting guests for the Thanksgiving feast between 10:30am and 8:30pm on November 28th. If there is a wait, no worries! The Old Mill has breathtaking scenery and amazing shops to keep everyone in the family entertained during the wait.
